The
decision to send your child to a Montessori school is a big
decision. This choice reflects your understanding of the depth
and breadth of your child’s needs and your desire for their
school environment to be one that nurtures their natural love of
learning and growing independence. A Montessori education is one
that extends beyond the classroom, and into the home
environment. Parents are strongly encouraged to understand how
the principles of Montessori can be integrated into the home.
Throughout the year there are opportunities for parents to meet
with other parents and the teachers to discuss these concepts
and learn more about the Montessori philosophy.
The
relationship between the school and the parent is one of
cooperation. The
primary goal is to determine and provide what is best for each
child. Parents will have open and ongoing communication with the
teacher. They are encouraged to become a part of the school
community by attending events and offering a skill or talent in
the classroom. There is a Parent Association that meets
regularly over the course of the school year. This is a great
way to meet other parents and stay abreast of school activities.
